Lies In The DaVinci Code

"You shall not bear a false report..." - Exodus 23:1

The DaVinci Code is a long-term best seller. Part of the reason for its popularity is that we live in a world where people are fascinated by Jesus, yet they are ignorant of what history and the Bible can teach us. As a result, many lies about Jesus in The DaVinci Code are believed to be true.

The book begins with a lie, stating, "Descriptions of art work, architecture, documents, and secret rituals in this novel are accurate." Dan Brown writes the novel as if it's historical fiction when in reality, it's just fiction. There are speculations about art work, architecture, documents, and secret rituals for which there is either no evidence or these are blatantly false. Then the author proceeds to tell more lies.

It's a hard-to-put-down read, but it adheres to the philosophy of a Nazi Germany propaganda specialist who said, "The bigger the lie, the more it is believed." Sadly, many have believed. But good news! There is a historically accurate book about Jesus and Mary Magdalene. It's called the Bible.
