Swoon Theory
"He is not here, but He has risen." - Luke 24:6
We've been looking at the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the many theories espoused to debunk it. Let me share with you one of the funniest theories that tries to explain the empty tomb. It's called the Swoon Theory.
This theory argues that Jesus really didn't die. The Roman guards just thought He had died, but He was really unconscious or had swooned from the loss of blood and exhaustion on the cross. Later He revived and came out of the tomb and appeared to His disciples, who thought He had risen.
Yeah, sure. After the ordeal of the crucifixion in losing all of His blood, He survived three days in a damp tomb without food or water, unwrapped Himself from tightly-bound burial clothes, rolled away the heavy stone, overcame the Roman guards, walked miles on feet that had been spiked, and convinced His disciples He had risen from the dead. It takes more faith to believe this theory than to believe in the Resurrection.
In the end, the only theory that explains the empty tomb is Jesus' resurrection from the dead, and that's the evidence I believe.

My mom (agnostic) tried this theory out on me. It is so rediculous.
The Romans crucified tens of thousands of Jews in that time period, there isn't a trace of evidence that anyone ever survived. - Austin
Amen to this story.....I believe the evidence. - patrice
In the end, the only theory that explains the yellow brick road is the wizard of Oz. - Erik
Even I know the wizard of oz was a movie, man made for our entertainment. My four year old knows that, but he also knows that Jesus died for him, on the cross and came back to life. My suggestion is to turn of the tv and pick up a KJV BIble. That is the truth. We love you Erik and are praying for you. - julie
Some people are following a wide "yellow brick type road". Matt. 7:13 says "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." I hope that you'll find the right road because it is obvious you have not found happiness and the "peace that passeth all understanding" I'am praying for you. - christ follower
The swoon theory was sort of a two part theory the other part was that his disciples came and stole his body and carried it off. But we know that thr tomb was sealed and there were guards standing their post to prove the gospel wrong, so this theory was completely foolish. He is alive and is at the Father's side. - Jerry
There was not a grew better trained at killing than the Roman army. Those with the crucifixion assignment knew death when they saw it. From a soldier standpoint, thinking an enemy is dead when he's not is a fatal mistake. How could a fraudster dupe these guys to show up a few days later? Not possible.
By-the-way, the Wizard of Oz was a series of best selling books before the movies. - Hal

Just like the wizard of Nazareth. - Erik
Yept, the Bible has been the mostly widely read book of all time and the one that has changed lives throughout the centuries. The reason it continues to be read more than any other book is that Christ is not a fictional character for those who accept him as Lord and Savior and they know him personally. Even many that don't come to know Him personally still realize there is something different and life changing about the words of the Bible. If one lives by its advice such as the wisdom of proverbs how much easier, happier, and more trouble free their lives would be, but only the wise can see that. - Christ Follower
We keep getting questioned if we wish to stay subscribed. Definitely yes, We are Bryant's in-laws and especially enjoy the messages and all the good things Right from the Heart is doing. Thank You. M. Hoskins - Marjorie and Bob Hoskins
Here is a new Swoon Theory: When the non-believers get up off their knees after bowing and their tongues cease confessing about Jesus Christ, they will swoon away. If you haven’t already done so it’s not too late so please, please know the Way, the Truth and the Light before it’s too late. - Centurion
For Erik and our former friend and soon to be "saved" Jonathan..
Jesus said, "Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe." and I guess it will take signs and wonders for you to believe, but if you only knew. Is there anything you have faith in? We love you guys! - Stephen
Amen Stephen! And as much as we care God loves them so much more and as the Bible says knows every hair on their head. - becky
And the angels in heaven will rejoice. - Christ Follower
If we as born again believers will band together and pray for the salvation of Erik and Jonathon one day it will come. Christ said if we ask it in his name it will happen, I believe, don't you. Erik I dont care that you don't want it we are going to do it. - Jerry
I think at one time or another we were all doubters. Some of us are just a little more smart aleck about it than others:-) - Becky
I agree in prayer that Erik and Jonathan will be saved. God has His timing and ways. May His will be done. - Janice
Guess I am younger than those who know about the wizard of oz book, but that wasn't the point. Pick up the Bible and read for yourself, ask God into your heart. I love the encouragement of all the others in praying for Erik. Great way for us Christians to get together for a good cause. - Julie
