Jesus Making Religious People Mad

"And God said...I AM WHO I AM." - Exodus 3:14

Jesus was constantly making religious people mad. What made them the angriest were His claims about Himself. He said, "I am the bread of life," and "I am the light of this world," meaning enlightenment. He said, "I am the way," meaning the way to God. He said, "I am the truth." "I am the life, " meaning the key to eternal life. He said, "Before Abraham was, I AM."

These are definite claims to be God. These were outrageous statements and were the major reason that Jesus was executed. The religious people saw Him as a blasphemer, a pretender who claimed to be God.

Whatever you do, don't commit intellectual suicide by claiming you think Jesus was a good man, a prophet, a good teacher, but not God. Our only rational conclusions can be that He was an idiot, a lying megalomaniac, or He is who He claimed to be. I believe He told the truth about Himself.

What do you believe?

Jesus will never conform to what people want to make Him be. He is who He is and I thank God for that. He told the truth about himself. - Janice

You asked - I answer. I agree with Peter that He is The Christ, Son of the living God. No one compares with Him in his person, teaching and actions. - Leon

Christ said if you have seen me you have seen the Father. he was the God - man. He still had the power he had while he was with the Father but the people of that day was no different than the people of today, they didn't believe him either. I met him back in 1969 in an alter at Goose Creek, South Carolina. He was the same then as he was in the begginning and he is still the same today. I thank God I have a Saviour who can do just what he says he will do, and he does. God Bless all and have a good day. - Jerry
