The Future

"Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing..." - Romans 15:13

What's going to happen next year, next week, fifteen minutes from now? Many people waste time worrying about what might happen. The Bible gives us a wonderful promise: "[God says] I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."

Can we know the future? No, we can't. But we can face the future with confidence when we know God is in control and is working for our good.

No matter what circumstances come our way, we know He's there for us. And frankly, when I read the newspapers or see the evening news, I don't always feel optimistic about the future. But when I put my trust in God, knowing He is in complete control, I have hope for tomorrow and strength for living each and every day.

I think it is such a blessing to know that God is in charge of our future. When I begin to worry about my future I always go to the verse (Jer. 29:11) that was in today's reading. I just praise God that I can know he is in control and that he has promised to watch over us. - bmt

This verse has given me strength so often over the years. Whenever it seems like I'm in a situation that seems hopeless, I remember that God has a plan. He knows what He is doing and He never gives me anything I can't handle. I know that there is a greater purpose, even for my suffering or strife. I trust Him fully that His plans are to prosper me. I love that I can surrender problems to the Lord because whenever I do, my burdens actually lift and I feel a return of hope and newfound resilience. God is so good. - Gracie Benz

Whenever I feel a bit anxious about the upcoming Presidential election in November I just have to remember that God truly is in complete control and He puts people in leadership positions for His purposes. What a blessing it is to trust in God and know that He is working things together for good. I needed this reminder today. The future and all of eternity is in God's hands. - Janice

I couldnt of said it better myself. The lord is just too amazing & its that HOPE that is within us, that God will always answer our prayers - not in our time, but in his.

There is HOPE for tomoro, there is STRENGTH too - that strength comes from a God, who always guides & protects us, with his unfailing love, for the journey ahead! So hold on, cos with Jesus all things are possible & the future is beautiful - our path is beautiful!!! - JAYMI

Another thing i just wanted to add - was that how awesome is it knowing we can rest our burdens/our sin/our struggles upon that cross & jesus takes that upon himself - to set us free!! I believe that each of us have a BEAUTIFUL plan, that makes US beautiful too!!! We could never deny what God has instore, because it will always be right for us, it will be TRUE, it will teach us, make us, empower us, and lastly, it will allow us to GROW. God brings hope to the hopeless!!!
